Welcome To SWSA
The Southwest Washington Soccer Association (SWSA) is an adult coed soccer organization that has existed since the 1970's, serving the Thurston, Pierce, Lewis, and Grays Harbor counties in Washington state. SWSA operates year round, with eight game seasons in each of our divisions. Our divisions are:
- CoEd Over-30 who play Tuesday nights
- CoEd Over-40 who play Wednesday nights
- CoEd Open (competitive/recreational) who play Thursday nights
All of our games are currently played at a variety of fields throughout Thurston county. We adhere to FIFA rules with a few modifications, these include NO SLIDETACKLING. We also have unlimited subs and sub-on-the-fly, and have a requirement of no more than 6 of either sex on the field at once. For a full listing of our league rules, please visit our Rules page.
We currently require all players to have a valid WSASA player card in order to take the field. Cards are available through their website and, if you print out your confirmation page to present to the ref, are accepted immediately.
As a league, we register teams, not players. This means that in order to join the league, you need to find a team to join, as opposed to signing up and being assigned to a team. We do maintain a list of players looking to join teams that is made available to our team captains, which you can get onto by emailing us at info@swsasoccer.com, however, the best way to get onto a team is to find a team to join on your own. Many of our players also play pickup soccer at various places around the county on the weekends. More information can be found at swsasoccer.com. Another way that many players find teams is simply by showing up at games and inquiring as to who needs players on a given night- although in order to actually play in a match, you will still need to have an active WSASA player card.
SWSA also hosts the Socctoberfest, a coed seven-a-side tournament held annually every October.
